HTC will start taking pre-orders for Vive, its virtual reality headset, from February 29, its chief executive has confirmed.
Cher Wang told the Telegraph the company had chosen to refocus on virtual reality and away from smartphones, saying the company was now “more realistic.”
The price has not yet been announced.
Currently, the HTC Vive differentiates itself from the Oculus Rift by focusing more on room-scale virtual experiences that allow users to walk around, as opposed to the Oculus Rift’s mostly seated experiences.
