The Totem headset from Montreal-based Vrvana, Inc. has launched its Kickstarter this week with a very promising debut — more than $100,000 raised in the first 24 hours.
The project is now more than a third of the way to its $350,000 goal with 26 days still left in the campaign.
The main difference between the Totem and the Oculus Rift is that the Totem has a forward-facing camera right on the device to allow fr positional tracking and to allow users to switch to the camera view so that they see their keyboards without having to take off the headset.
It is also designed to work with more than just PCs, promising support for the PlayStation and the Xbox 360.
