Press release: EON Reality Launches the World’s Largest Virtual Reality Library, EON Experience
The EON Experience Portal enables global EON developers to bring their innovative applications to market.
IRVINE, Calif. - EON Reality Inc., the world’s leading provider of Virtual Reality software, systems, and applications, launches the new EON Experience Portal, the world’s largest Virtual Reality library, built on EON Reality’s eleven global locations and fifteen years of Virtual Reality experience. The updated EON Experience Portal is a digital distribution system to serve content on EON Reality’s Virtual Reality platform, developed and maintained by EON Reality.
With the explosive growth in adoption of Virtual Reality hardware, the challenge faced by early adopters is the lack of VR content. EON Experience is designed to address that need by giving users the ability to view and download Virtual Reality applications. Additionally, developers, including members of EON Reality’s global Interactive Digital Center Network, can bring their applications to market and EON’s user base.
“With Virtual Reality transitioning from niche market to mainstream acceptance, content and applications are going to be a driving force in the Virtual Reality market,†said Mats W. Johansson, CEO of EON Reality. “We’re beginning to see our customers’ transition from highly customized Virtual Reality solutions to affordable mass market Virtual Reality devices. As this trend continues, the EON Experience Portal will help us deliver the VR content our customers expect.â€
EON Reality, with fifteen years of Virtual Reality experience, has partnered with subject matter experts to create cutting edge immersive and interactive content. These subject matter experts cut across industries and market segments and include such organizations as: National Institute of Education (Singapore), WorldSkills Foundation, Temasek Polytechnic, and Institute Technical Education Singapore. These applications are used in a variety of settings: Industrial, Educational, and Edutainment applications such as offshore safety training, virtual chemistry labs, and a virtual aquarium with sharks and dolphins. The EON Experience Portal also contains the world’s largest Virtual Reality library for learning, with over 5,000 applications.
“By combining the realism of a flight simulator and the fun of a video game, Virtual Reality learning and training creates an immersive and attention grabbing experience,†said Dan Lejerskar, Chairman of EON Reality. “We’re extremely excited about throwing open our ‘vault’ and sharing our content and fifteen years of Virtual Reality experience with the world. As affordable mass market Virtual Reality devices become more common place, our content, developed in partnership with key subject matter experts, will be a key differentiator between EON Reality’s platform and all others.â€
Currently, the EON Experience Portal displays a small sample of EON Reality’s available content for users to browse. As the portal develops, new features will be added including the ability to make purchases and a tighter integration with EON Reality’s platform.
